On the 16-20 of October 2023, the 8th World Investment Forum is taking place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with a global meeting of stock exchange heads focused on sustainable finance-the SSE Global Dialogue. The Global Dialogue is considered SSE's flagship event, bringing together the CEOs of SSE's 130 partner exchanges around the world.

Medet Nazaraliev, President of the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange (KSE) took part in the event. In his speech to the participants of the plenary session, he pointed out that today there is an increasing role of the KSE in the development of sustainable finance, disclosing esg-reporting and creating conditions for carbon trading. According to M. Nazaraliev, such stock market instruments as: sustainable, climate, adaptation, esg-bonds, are meant to attract resources to environmental, climate and social projects that aim to stimulate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

"Sustainable bonds have already been introduced on the Kyrgyz stock market, which have supported projects in the area of women's enterprises and the development of green finance lines. This was a new challenge for the Kyrgyz stock market, which we have successfully met and intend to continue to attract companies to release sustainable bonds and to focus the attention of responsible investors, including international investors, on the instruments of the Kyrgyz stock market. I believe that the fact that stock exchanges in their efforts to promote sustainable development and create conditions for trading in new instruments of sustainable finance are able to make a strong contribution to the achievement of sustainable development goals for "building a better future for all on a healthy planet", - said M. Nazaraliev.

It was a high-level event that brought together not only Exchange heads, but also other capital market leaders, including: chief securities regulators, heads of institutional investors and emitters, as well as heads of standards bodies and other international organisations.

The Forum, which is organised every two years, is aimed to provide participants with a unique opportunity to meet with their colleagues in front of a global audience to demonstrate their exchange's contribution to the SDGs and build a global sustainable finance platform.
